Winners of the Takeda Techno-Entrepreneurship Award are chosen by a Selection Committee, which takes into account the merit of research proposals as well as suggestions made by Cyber Workshop chairpersons. The names of Selection Committee members will be made public following the selection of winners. |
First-Round Selection (mid-July 2003) |
The first period of intensive Cyber Workshop discussions will be held from June 23 to July 7. |
First-round selection is carried out based on the strength of applicants' posters (i.e., research proposals) and participation during the first period of intensive discussion. |
Approximately 15 applicants will be selected per Cyber Workshop session. The selection results will be sent to participants by e-mail. |
Applicants who are not selected will still be able to access the workshop and view its contents. They will, however, no longer be able to participate in discussions. |
Second-Round Selection (end of August 2003) |
The second period of intensive discussion will be held from July 22 to August 11. |
Second-round selection is carried out based on the strength of applicants' posters and participation during the second period of intensive discussion. |
Approximately 5 applicants will be selected as finalists per Cyber Workshop session. The selection results will be sent to applicants by e-mail. |
Telephone Interview by Program Officers |
A Takeda Foundation Program Officer may contact primary applicants by telephone during the workshop or prior to the Selection Committee Interview in order to interview applicants about their research plan. |
Selection Committee Interview (early October 2003) |
Selection Committee members will interview all finalists. The interview will include presentations by the finalists and questions posed to them by the Selection Committee members.
Presentations and Q&A will be carried out via telephone.
Winners Selection (mid-October 2003) |
The Selection Committee will select, in principle, one award winner and four finalist commendations for each Cyber Workshop session, based on the strength of research proposals, participation during the Cyber Workshop, and the Selection Committee Interview.
Winner selection and finalist commendations will be announced by both e-mail and post. |
