The Takeda Techno-Entrepreneurship Award welcomes applications from persons applying to be observers during the Cyber Workshops.
The Cyber workshops are designed to be an online arena, where applicants for the Takeda Techno-Entrepreneurship Award take part in discussions of one another's research proposals.
Persons registering as observers are permitted to enter this arena. Observers are not able to make their comments in the workshop, but can view applicants' posters and read the contents of discussions posted at the workshop. The benefits of observer status include: |

Viewing discussions between leading researchers related to practical applications. |
|
|
Helping for evaluating research subjects and groups, as well as making decisions in regard to investment and support for practical applications. |
|
|
Using the workshop to search for potential research partners. |
|

Persons falling into the following categories are particularly welcomed as observers: |

Persons interested in the promotion of research or startup companies related to the session subjects of the Cyber Workshops, or those with advice to offer |
|
|
Persons interested in investing in the results of research related to the session subjects. (venture capitalists, angels, individual investors) |
|
|
Persons interested in the development of new business applications related to the session subjects (persons responsible for new business aspects in existing corporations, etc.) |
|
|
Persons interested in gathering information related to research in the session subject fields, or seeking collaborative relationships with other researchers |
|
|
Persons with potential to become users of research results in fields related to the session subjects |

Process for gaining access to the Workshops |

1. |
Please complete and submit the Observer Registration Form. The names of observers, along with the institutions they represent, will be displayed on an Observer List on the workshop site. Please also supply an e-mail address that can be included on the list, if possible. |

2. |
Once we have received your registration, the Takeda Fundation will send you an ID and password by e-mail, to allow you to enter the Cyber Workshops as an observer. |
|
3. |
The Cyber Workshops are held between June 23rd and September 28, 2003. Observers will need the ID and password issued by the Takeda Foundation to access the workshops. The URL of the Cyber Workshops will be announced at the registration.

4. |
The discussions held on the Cyber Workshops can be viewed for three years after the workshops close. |

Please note that observers are not able to make comments in the discussions during the workshops. |

Questions or opinions in regard to applicants' research proposals or their comments made during the workshops should be addressed either directly to the applicants or to the webmaster for each session. The webmaster may publish any questions he or she considers particularly appropriate on the workshop site. |

|
Please use your discretion in regard to any direct contact with applicants. The Takeda Foundation takes no responsibility whatsoever for any contact between observers and applicants. |

|
If the Takeda Foundation considers that any action by an observer is deliberately causing problems for an applicant, or has potential damaging implications for the Takeda Foundation, that person may have their registration for the workshop revoked. |
