For a quarter century, Dr. Okamoto and I were paired up in a three-legged race as we aggressively developed the TRMM mission to measure precipitation from outer space. But missions like space projects or satellite projects also need a large amount of money and the contributions of many staff. When the TRMM mission was successfully launched, my colleague in America told me, "Without you, TRMM does not exist" - but looking back on the history of the mission, I remember each of the staff and know that the success of this mission would have been impossible without their critical contributions. We had unbelievably great fortune to get success today. We could work with smart researchers. Administrative officers went outside their roles to support us in difficult situations. Many engineers from private companies did not turn their back on the mission, even though it had high risk and a poor financial incentive, and continued their collaboration on the mission. All of these fortunes were indispensable to reach today's success. Now I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of them. Thank you very much.
